Inspiration for our times - water

I have loved the feelings of JOY  I felt this Christmas season and hope you have too. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has chosen to partner with WaterAid to support clean water projects around the world. If you would like to continue feeling the JOY of Christmas consider going here to learn more or to donate.

Additional thoughts:
*Christ Is the Living Water
Do you wish to partake of this living water [spoken of in John 4:14] and experience that  divine well springing up within you to everlasting life?
Then be not afraid. Believe with all your hearts. Develop an unshakable faith in the Son of God. Let your hearts reach out in earnest prayer. Fill your minds with knowledge of Him.        Forsake your weaknesses. Walk in holiness and harmony with the commandments.
Drink deeply of the living waters of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

*  How Does the Living Water Bless Us?
The living water heals us through the power of the Holy Ghost.
The living water nourishes and sustains us (see Matthew 11:28).
The living water brings peace and joy (see John 14:27; D&C 101:16).

Inspiration for Our Times - Harmony

Being a very independent person I often struggle with harmony. Perhaps you do as well.  Some synonyms for Harmony are: concord, accord, agreement, peace, peacefulness, amity, amicability, friendship, fellowship, comradeship, solidarity, cooperation, understanding, consensus, unity, sympathy, rapport, goodwill, like-mindedness. unison, union, concert, oneness, synthesis, concurrence. I plan to pick one synonym this week and work to improve what I can to be more in harmony with God, my family and my associates. Perhaps you would like to do the same. As we each do our part we will be happier ourselves and create more joy in the world.

Ponder this quote from Lauri's talk:
"In the coming week, I invite you to seek out opportunities to speak words of appreciation and kindness to others. I also invite you to stop any initial impulse to be contentious, but to give the benefit of the doubt instead and respond in kindness. Elder Renlund put it this way: “As His disciples, let us fully mirror [Christ’s] love and love one another so openly and completely that no one feels abandoned, alone, or hopeless.”

Inspiration for our times ~The Way ~

This week I am posting one of my favorite talks. I believe I posted it a few years ago on my other blog. But it is what the world needs to know for these challenging times. It truly is inspiration for our times.  Just two days ago our Prophet Russell M. Nelson said that gratitude and prayer will flood the world with goodness. Jesus Christ is the best example we have of goodness. Jesus Christ is the way to happiness, fulfilment, revelation, and love.

Inspiration for our times ~ Disciple-Leader ~

You may have heard this talk this week. It was given remotely to the newly named Ensign College. But I believe he began this idea in at BYU Idaho in 2007.

How can I lift, strengthen, and build the people around me?
How can I add value?

Inspiration for our times ~Constant Companion ~

As you can tell by my blog, I believe in God the Eternal Father and in His son Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost. With them as companions life may not be without challenges but those challenges can be resolved. These companions will help us stay on the covenant path that leads to being in the presence of them forever. I hope you enjoy the week and have the peace you need for each day
.

Watch, Listen to, or read: Who Is Your Constant Companion? by Elder D. Fraser Bullock

Ponder this:
Decades ago, President David O. McKay said, “Satan is still determined to have his way, and his emissaries have power given them today as they have not had throughout the centuries.”

"We each need to keep in mind an eternal perspective of what is occurring around us and what we are doing to be engaged in the battle for righteousness, including our own personal righteousness."

"Let us each have a daily devotional to keep that eternal perspective we need, and to have the Spirit as our constant companion. With this foundation, we can avoid the pitfalls of the world and be better prepared for the difficult challenges when they come. Ultimately, we can then experience the eternal happiness the Father and the Son have made available, all dependent upon us."

And now just for fun you might like to listen to my all time favorite voice singing "Bring Him Home."

Inspiration for our times ~ Know Him by Name ~

The name of Jesus is controversial. He is a most controversial figure in the world today. Who is Jesus? Is He LORD? Is He the Son of God? Is He a prophet? Is he a good moral teacher? Is He a lunatic gone mad? . The most important search you’ll have in your life will be to find that answer. Luckily you can find it historically, logically, through literature, nature, and even through your emotions. It doesn’t matter how you search. You will find Jesus whether it be in this life or the next.
For me He is the Son of God, my Savior, my Friend my Redeemer!

Inspiration For Our Times ~ Stand on the shoulders of those who went before us ~

This week I have posted songs that show youth who have learn from others. Also songs that just make me happy. The speech is a father speaking to his son and telling him a few of the character traits that will have his son be happy in this life and the life to come. I truly believe that if we learn in our youth we have so much more the advantage to  be content as adults. I hope you enjoy this week's selections and may God's spirit be with you throughout the week.

Inspiration for our times ` Charity

Here’s a problem: How do you get 100 freight train cars to move? That’s about 10,000 tons, and you may only have 2 locomotive engines. The answer lies in how the cars are connected to each other. They have coupling mechanisms that allow for some slack between each car on the train.

When the engineers start the locomotives moving forward, the first car begins to move. The first car’s momentum and the locomotive’s continual pull help get the second car moving, and then the third car moving, and so forth. It is like the train is a giant stretchable spring. The slack between the cars is gradually but quickly taken up, and the train starts moving, one car at a time.

Listen to the talk below to see how this applies to charity.
